On 1 June 2007, the Regulation no. 1907/2006 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 18 December 2006 on the Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH) entered into force.
The REACH regulation places the manufacturers and importers of substances under numerous obligations concerning the production, sale and use of substances in their original form, in preparations or in products. The regulation also imposes obligations on the downstream users of chemical substances and preparations.
The REACH regulation objectives include:
– ensuring high quality of human health and environment protection
– facilitating the sale of chemical substances in the internal EU market
– increasing competitiveness and innovativeness.
