The project entitled: “Development and implementation of an innovative technology for manufacturing thick-walled cast iron and cast steel slag ladles with PWC ceramic surface layers”.
The aim of the activities is to increase the operational durability of slag ladles, measured by the number of slag fillings. This goal will be achieved by limiting the range of temperature changes of thermal shocks to which the working layer of the ladle is subjected, thanks to the use of ceramic coatings on these surfaces and by increasing the stability of the microstructure of the material used on the ladle.
Planned effects
Development of an innovative technology for manufacturing slag ladles made of high-quality low-carbon cast steel with a net weight of 3.4 Mg and 22.5 Mg and high-quality cast iron with mixed graphite (graphite precipitation in the form of spheroid and vermicular) with ceramic surface layers (PWC) and its implementation in the Applicant’s own business activity – Ostrowiec Foundry Sp. z o.o. Prec-Odlew Sp. z o.o. is a Consortium Partner, responsible for the development of the passive and active coating structures.
